What Schools Are Saying
“All About Mental Empowerment provided engaging, experiential virtual learning sessions on the topic of 'Nutrition and Well-Being' for over 5000 staff and students in the Halton District School Board (HDSB). Their sessions were a part of the HDSB Well-Being in Action Series which is a monthly series that involves a community partner sharing an everyday well-being practice through experiential learning with students in Kindergarten to Grade 12. All About Mental Empowerment was an absolute pleasure to work with! They provided detailed, inclusive lesson plans for the sessions ahead of time, and they responded promptly to all communication and feedback. They are deeply knowledgeable about nutrition, mental health, and well-being. They skillfully shared this knowledge in a youth friendly, engaging manner. I look forward to working with them again in the future!”
~ Instructional Program Leader of Student Well-Being, Halton District School Board
“All About Mental Empowerment provided an amazing presentation to RHL. It was geared for Middle School kids and they were able to talk about issues that are affecting their lives. They handled the crowd and interacted with them. Students where still talking about it the next week. Thank you for interacting with the students and helping them understand what affects their mental health."
~ Jonathan So, Vice Principal Robert H. Lagerquist Sr. Public School
“We offered the workshop as part of our Exam & Culminating wellness initiative leading up to the end of Semester 1 in January. This is typically a time of year when student stress levels are elevated. We chose the social media workshop as we had experienced a number of our students engaging in unsafe behaviour online. What we liked about the workshop was All About Mental Empowerment’s engaging presentation style. They are very relatable to students and uses examples that students could readily connect with. We had about 50 students in attendance and the presentation fostered active participation from the students and was welcoming of diverse perspectives. We would absolutely recommend this workshop to other school communities.”

“My name is Irene Frankland and I'm a teacher at Rick Hansen Secondary School as well as being a staff sponsor of the school's Mental Health Awareness Club. We had All About Mental Empowerment come and speak to club members about social media and the biggest takeaway was that it was interactive and the examples that were used were relevant and new to some of the students. I would recommend this workshop to other schools and indeed, we are bringing them back to speak to a larger audience!”

“On behalf of Shaw P. S., we would like to say thank you for the two informative presentations on Mental Health for the school community, The presentation for the SAFAC parent group and the one for Shaw students. Your presentation to our South Asian Families Advisory Committee (SAFAC) on Mental Health was well received by the parent community. Parents were able to ask questions to clarify any misunderstandings of the different aspects of the topic. Also, the handbook (Mental Health Matters) shared with parents is a great resource to support the raising of resilient children. Feedback from parents was very positive. The second presentation which was geared towards students (Positive Body Image) has empowered students to think before using social media. Students admitted that it is challenging to let go of their devices, however, the presentation supported a reflection of how much they use it and when they need to put it away to support a healthy body and mind as they grow. The presentation questions you shared with staff supported the continued discussions on Mental Health in the classrooms. Your dynamic presentation style and knowledge on Mental Health has made a positive impact on our school community.”
~ Lisa Monteith & Janet Ochran, Principal and Vice Principal at Shaw Public School
“At Hawthorn Public School we received two of the workshops (Resiliency and How to Build a Positive Self-Image in a Digital World) offered by All About Mental Empowerment. The team did a wonderful job coordinating the workshops with our school. They was amazing at keeping the students accountable and engaged! They brought in some props and had many examples that she used to connect with students in a more meaningful way. Students walked away feeling empowered!”

“My name is Amandeep Bhatthal and I am the Vice Principal at Malala Yousafzai Public School. Our community was given a very informative workshop about supporting their children with navigating social media. Dr. Bisleen had various information on appropriate use of social media, how to support children in navigating apps and healthy social media tips. She also provided the families opportunities to share their experiences. She also provided an e-book for families after the workshop to refer to, which is a very helpful guide to have on hand for families. We will definitely be recommending this workshop to other school communities.”

“Hi! My name is Kelly, and I am chair of the parent council at the school. This workshop is so fun and so important for the kids and parents! I wish we had workshops like this growing up! The kids participated and had the most fun time while learning the most important lesson of all, that mistakes are normal and we are all deserving of being our own friend and advocate!”
~ Kelly, Chair of Parent Council Stornoway Crescent Public School

All About Mental Empowerment ran a session with our middle school students on developing healthy online habits, and it was extremely engaging and relevant to our students. The presentation was targeted perfectly to the age of our students, and led to great questions and discussions as a result. I highly recommend All About Mental Empowerment to your organization.
